Polishing up the sounds, but not the delivery

A solid album, but makes the issues I had with the band before more clear. The album sounds simply like a group of friends getting together to have a good time, good for them, it just doesn't make for a solid album, or cohesive sound. "Imaginate" is a perfect example of how they have a great thing going musically, but they run it into the ground with the "oh-oh-oh's." "thrill of the hunt" is exactly the same with how it starts promising, but then seems uncomfortable with its own strut. The sound is more polished here, but it only serves to point out the weaknesses more, as well as the strengths: excellent musicianship, singing, and rollicking vibe filled with optimism. They have the potential, let's see where they go from here

Undeniable, dance inducing, bob your head, groove worthy hip funk rock hop.

The opening track grabs you quick and the album squeezes tighter and tighter until gently letting go with a soothing goodbye during the nostalgic, melancholy soul of the last track. Each song seems better than the last, which is an accomplishment since every song sounds better than the majority of the formulaic, monotonous music on the radio today. The songwriting is superb, from the lyrics to the arrangements to the solos - truly a tight, well rounded album that demonstrates the New Dawn's ability to make a cohesive album while still maintaining individuality and uniqueness in every song. Need Something is WELL WORTH the money.
