Growing on me
author: deb
I've been listening to Chris Taylor & related bands for about 10 years now, so it's great to see another album. I wasn't crazy about the album at first (I'm not a Christian and the lyrics are preachier than Chris' other albums), but the Notorious Sinners CD has definitely grown on me over the past week or two. I dig the raw, "underproduced" sound, and "We've Said All There Is To Say" just ROCKS (as do "Heavy Rotation" and "Wild at Heart"). Another few weeks, and the CD may find its way to 5 stars, especially if I can catch the Sinners live again soon . . .

It's great to hear a Christian band that knows how to rock. These guys are edgy but never preachy.

Live performance is awsome.

I caught the Notorious Sinners live two weeks ago and they were awsome. It's nice to hear great live music. I have their cd in my car and listen to it all the time - matter of fact "Damaged Goods" caused me to get a massive speeding ticket!

These guys are thoughtful..... with a lick or two.....bass guy rocks

If you want to dig through influences..you can do that but, pound for pound, lick for lick, this band makes music that pulls it all together and ends up making a difference......original.
The lyrics give you context ( as does the singer of them), the guitar leads are melodic, restrained and joyful( plus if you see them live, the 'mann has the world's largest "foot pedal"). The drums, rather than just pounding out a beat, are interesting in and of themselves...and the bass player is the guy....
I honestly think tracks 7 and 8 are two of the best songs I've ever heard...unless we factor in..."Heal and Repair the World."...gotta be the one they like best.
