Album Notes

Nova Blue originally formed in Portland Oregon. Pam Way vocals, Erik Matthews guitar, Erik Selliken on drums, all were former members of Kalamity jam Eugene, OR, and Rhythm Jones Portland OR. They moved to Venice, CA met up With Michael Sunday on Bass (toured with Peter Tourke from the Monkey's) and then finally hooked up with Doctor Colin O'neal on the Keys.
People constantly look for a way to describe this band, but why try? Just listen. How would you have first described Fleetwood Mac, the Pretenders, the Doors etc. It's a combination of several great elements that when mixed together makes something truly unique. A new sound. And isn't that what all of us, who are passionate about music, are really looking for anyway.
It's rare, but this band happens to be one of those rarities.

Our mission is to play music as much as we possibly can for as many people who will listen, not take ourselves to seriously, have fun, inspire others to follow their dreams, and live life to its fullest. Hope to see you on the road, Love Nova Blue.

Incredible voice and guitar playing. A mysterious gem of a record!

With the opening track, Delic Bosa, I was intrigued. The mood reminded me of the first Portishead record but with more of a live band sound. The songs just get better after that and the album progresses to a beautiful jazzy finish with Myself to Blame; another haunting mood and melody that was stuck in my head and my CD player for days.

A friend in LA told me to online and listen to the Nova Blue album. I was instantly swept up in the first song, Delic Bosa, very psychadelic! The following tracks took me deeper, each song having more to say than the last. Not a bad song out of the lot! The whole journey ends with my favorite track, Myself To Blame, a new jazz standard written by this incredible rock band!
