Album Notes

WAGNER'S HELDENTENOR: A Bravura Music recording that features a new breed of tenor - Sasha Novak : a sexy, young, dramatic male capable of grabbing the attention of a younger audience. His voice is unique and unlike the tenors of recent times, taking on a more "raw and exciting" tone. His debut album features tracks rarely recorded and showcases some of the most alluring and exciting pieces ever written for the tenor voice. Sung in German, the album is a tribute to the Heldentenor voice and the creative genius of Richard Wagner.

As a World First, the album also includes a multimedia music video clip of "Winterstürme wichen dem Wonnemond", (The Springsong), taken from the 2nd installment of the Ring Cycle - Die Walküre, which is based on the controversial Nordic myth of twin brother and sister who fall in love. The film clip was filmed on location at the Montsalvat Estate in Victoria, Australia.

Sasha Novak's album has enjoyed much international success, and recently came in at Number 11 for RECORD OF THE YEAR 2002 AWARDS at Radio Six International.

With this recording Bravura Music aims to bring opera recordings into the 21st Century using a fresh approach, whilst maintaining the beauty and integrity of Richard Wagner's works.
