Album Notes

The Beginning:
7th of November. Automn rain or fog. Time for introspection in a gloomy and enchanted weather. The seeds in the soil prepare their spring blossom. Imperceptibly. A seeming state of lethargy. As fire under ashes.
When Stéphane meets Annamaria, he has already acquired a long experience as a guitar player in different bands. Together they open the door on a universe that will finally match their musical sensitivity. Gill (drums) and Yann (guitar) will join them shortly after.
Music:
November-7 is influenced by Lacuna Coil, Evanescence, Theatre of tragedy, Rammstein and Clawfinger. They define their style as ‘Emotiv metal’. This strangely spelled phrase refers to the combination of metal rock sounds and emotional harmonies. A strongly energizing music that evokes landscapes with no horizons where the ‘self’ becomes free.
The lyrics are transcripts of states of mind and images linked to a certain event, person or place. More than telling a story they suggest stories. They can be full of melancholy but this never results into resignation or immobility. Melancholy is the link that connects us to our soul and the very essence of life. It’s introspection, chrysalis, annoucement of resurrection. Just like hardship makes us stronger and shows us the beauty of life, November-7 ‘decorate the light with black ink’

I think this band is easy to listen to and even a little "fun". They seem to mix the bubbly sound of J-pop with heavy metal guitar, (maybe even not intentionally) and the result is interesting to say the least. The lyrics definitely allow you to paint a picture in your head. I like to compare this band to bands such as HeavensDust. I think the label of 'Emotiv Metal fits them just fine, and with a little fine tuning, perhaps they might strike exactly the sound they're looking for.
