Larry Nozero has had a regular working unit since 1980, recording several albums and featured at major jazz festivals and venues throughout the United States and Europe.

This current group has been a mainstay on the jazz scene and continues to perform jazz classics and original compositions to very loyal audiences throughout the Detroit metropolitan area and Midwest.

The songs presented here are composed by the late Eddie Russ (1934 - 1996), a prolific songwriter and pianist located in Michigan and highly acclaimed in US and European markets. This recording is a tribute to Eddie Russ and his music. Some of the songs originally recorded in the early 1970's by the group 'Mixed Bag' on their album, 'Fresh Out', are included in this collection. Mixed Bag included Eddie Russ, Danny Spencer, Jerry Glassel, Ron Brooks, David Koether and Larry Nozero. The groove was always the main focus in Eddie Russ' approach and it remains as fresh today.
