Album Notes

The Larry Nozero Quintet has been a regular working unit since 1980. They have recorded several albums and have been featured at major jazz festivals and venues throughout the United States and Europe. This group has been a mainstay on the jazz scene and continues to perform jazz classics and original compositions to very loyal audiences throughout the Detroit metropolitan area and midwest.

"A lot of people have been waiting for this disc for a long time. Despite a half dozen previous recordings, this is the first time Larry Nozero has put a live performance out there. We finally get a permanent record of just how exciting and brilliant the Larry Nozero Quintet is when it's performing in front of a live audience. Get ready for more of the beautiful melodies, bright fire, deep emotion, great taste and seemingly boundless, make it sound easy facility that the band's many fans have come to expect, and that, over the past fifteen or so years, has kept this group semi-permanently ensconced at some of the cities top spots." Jim Dulzo - veteran jazz writer, broadcaster and concert producer.

Nice Alto work
author: Mike
I bought this hard to find cd without ever hearing Mr. Nozero. I just knew he was an altoist with a good reputation. Very nice stuff indeed. Full bodied boppin' alto. I was sadly surprised to read that he recently passed away. CD-Baby does the jazz world a great service by offering recordings of 'deserving greater attention' artists like Larry Nozero.
