Ed Nuccilli developed the Plural Circle Orchestra in the 1960’s, and the band continues to perform today in and around the Detroit area. Ed Nuccilli is a master trumpeter, and has performed with several top name artists over the years, including; Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, Sammy Davis, Jr., Tom Jones, Wayne Newton, Peggy Lee, Lou Rawls, The Supremes, Spinners and Four Tops to name a few. Nuccilli has also worked for Motown Records and is one of the most highly respected ‘jazz cats’ in the Detroit area. Most prolifically, Ed Nuccilli is an inventive jazz composer and these are some beautiful works. On this album are top notch Detroit musicians, who have a deep connection to Ed’s music. Nuccilli’s unique, artistic style of arranging is considered to be among the best in the country, according to his peers. Each tune is a work of art that takes months to create, but when completed, a true masterpiece has evolved! Music has been Ed’s life. He gravitates toward the be bop style of jazz, which relies heavily on improvisation, complex harmonies and chord changes.
