Album Notes

Ryan has been preparing for the album "Me...In Pieces" his whole life. Playing guitar since age 9 and performing since age 13, Ryan has played in every genre of music at one time or another. Ryan decided to go solo after his high school band separated and started working on songs for a debut album while attending Emerson College in Boston, MA. "After the first few months in college it was clear that I had to put my focus and energy into my true passion of creating music. Music was the only thing I felt was right in my life."

During his time in school he composed 14 new original songs and played open-mic nights in Boston to get some feedback. "People were excited by the songs. They came up to me after I played a song or two, wanting to know how they could get a CD and see me play again. This reaction made me even more serious and anxious to get into the studio and record the album." When the summer of 2003 arrived Ryan began recording his debut album, "Me...In Pieces", in the studio and at home.

Each song reflects some aspect of Ryan's life and his experiences during the past year. "I think that first year out of high school is a very strange period of change and new experience for anyone, no matter what direction you go in." The songs dance with ideas of leaving that certain routine of life, the changes in relationships or love, and reminisce on the younger years of blissful ignorance.

The writing style Ryan uses tells a poetic story that is carried by captivating melodies and guitar playing. "I was never satisfied playing your straightforward G, C, and D chords as the body of any song. I always try to be creative with my guitar playing and incorporate all my rock, jazz and hip hop influences." The creative guitar work and introspective lyrics truly makes Ryan's work stand out with some of todays best. "I am really excited for this album and the things to come from it, I think I've only scratched the surface of what I can do. I can't wait to see where this upcoming year takes me and how it will evolve me as a creative force."

I am so stoked. Like honestly when I first heard the song "Beautiful Day" the first thing that came to mind was that they sound alot like Ben Folds Five with a small mix of Goo Goo Dolls. I LOVE IT!! You guys have really captured the goodness of an acoustic song with overdoing it. It's a very clean refreshing sound. Hope to see a new album out soon. BEST WISHES!! -a fellow bostonian GO RED SOX!
