NU GUAJIRO is a group influenced by Cuban Folkloric music and flavored by the funk and harmonies of New York City life.
They gathered their members from subways, Central Park and while playing for dance classes. Mo' Guajiro has performed traditional Cuban son in venues such as No'Moore, SOB's, and Belle Epoque in New York. While on tour in Puerto Rico the band performed at places like Anfiteatro Luis Munoz Marin, Tropimar, Rumba and Regata 2000, sharing the stage with Sonora Poncena, Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Apollo Sound, Los Van Van and Buena Vista Social Club.
In February 2001 Mo'Guajiro was invited to perform at the HALF NOTE JAZZ CLUB in Athens Greece, Getting a tremendous respounse from the greek audience for 11 nights in a row
On November 12th 2001 Mo'Guajiro performed at the NY State Theater, opening for the Lincoln Center Jazz Orquestra, in a Gala Benefit to raise money for the Jazz at Lincoln Center Organization and two weeks later performed in front of 2000 people at the Brooklyn Museum of Art.

* August 11th 2002 Mo'Guajiro performed at Pier 25 on the Hudson River NYC for 3000 people.
* August 17th Worcester MA Latin Music Festival.
* Self-produced Argentina Tour January 3rd to January 14th 2003.
* Philadelphia Museum of Art, October 31st 2003.
* During November 2003 Mo' Guajiro carried out an Artistic Residency in Puerto Rico sponsored by the Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña (Institute of Puertorican Culture). The Educational Program consisted in a 4 week long workshop in which residents from two different low income communities with a little or no experience in music learn the basic principles of music notation, dictation and learn at different levels-to play an instrument. At the end of the workshop the students performed for their family and friends what they had learned in class.
