-----------------
The Numb Project is an atmospheric, downtempo electronic project from Portland, OR based producer Chris Calarco.
Debuting on Pittsburgh, PA's Hexagon Records, Calarco has scripted a massive debut effort - a double cd set, complete with 21 tracks and 2 and 1/2 hours of music, Soundbridge Sessions, is chock full of swirling and cryptic synths, spooky organ, dub bass, groove-centric beats and hypnotic rhythms.
Track 2 on Disc 1, "Submarine", is the quintessial Numb track - leaving emptiness in the wake of gut-punching beats as heady, reflective melodies float atop.

People be saying:
"Not to be confused with claustrophobic electro-industrial screamers, Numb, The Numb Project is the technonym of Chris Calarco, who builds sprialing sculptures of synth, sample, and rhythmn. Calarco's new double disc, Soundbridge Sessions, would fit nicely between Auditory Sculpture and the Orb.
Keyboards shiver and gleam as they sweep around the soundfield, always fluxing from one evolving form to another.
Beats are generally downtempo breaks with a restrained funkiness, but are not so dozy that they'll have you running to the pharmacy for Viviran, while the overall mood is more warm than chilled-out, more intelligently casual than ersatz cosmopolitan."
- Willamette Weekly, Portland, OR
"If you are in the mood for an extended performance of downtempo and trip hop grooves, check out The Numb Project!" - www.universalmetropolis.com
"...'Submarine' is a smooth recording, deftly showcasing Calarco's visionary capabilities. There are traces of industrial, electro-breaks and ambient psy-trance..." - - www.universalmetropolis.com
"...'Slang' is my favourite track on the (album)...it features a well-done tension-filled delay on the main rhythm, consumed by a medley of attractive complimentary sounds. There is a definte Krush, possibly Shadow feel to this..." - www.universalmetropolis.com
"...relentless...a dark vision of a roller coaster ride through the haunting groove of electronica..." -

2-DISKs of ELECTRO-COOL
author: staticmerryA good package, SOUNDBRIDGE SESSIONS gives us TWO DISKS -thats 21 TRACKS of DOWN-TEMPO greatness! A sure BUY
A little bit of everything adding up to a solid whole.
author: MandrichI am hard pressed on trying to shoehorn this wonderful CD into any particular genre. Once second its beat/down tempo, the next it's very cinematic sounding, next jazzy, next it's ambient and drifty. Sounds strange? It works beautifully. This two CD set is a stunning piece of musical expression. Further proof that an artist does not necessarily need cling to a specific sound for dear life. Sounds like this could only be independent and that makes them all the more worth lending your ear to.
Eno of the new millenium
author: JereAmbiant without the elevator. What Eno did for the elevator this does for todays fast paced multitask world. While in the same genre there is a feeling of purpose and determination throught the spectrum of the album. Will reveal itself differently each time it is listened to I am sure...
Music from a dream
author: Fez DispenserThere is a cool sense of urgency in this music. It is not just 'chill out' foder. It is aware, relaxed and fearless.
