One Accord was formed in 1999 as the praise and worship team for the newly introduced contemporary service at Faith Lutheran Church in Lincoln, NE. As the size of this service grew, it presented an avenue for original material as well as contemporary arrangements of more traditional music.
A building fund drive for a new building, in addition to a strong collection of original songs, prompted the recording of "Shelter On the Way", the first offering by One Accord. Well crafted melodies, insightful lyrics and rich vocal arrangements are the hallmarks of this diverse compilation. The musical backgrounds of the band members are varied, yet blended, as is demonstrated beautifully on this record. Styles range from Latin to jazz to folk on this "something for everyone" musical journey of faith and praise.
