Oars self titled debut seamlessly weaves cunning pop melodies into an undulating bed of beats and synths to create a unique sound that stands out as totally original while hinting at inspiration from avant/pop masters such as David Bowie, Talking Heads, Fleetwood Mac, Mouse on Mars, and Stevie Wonder.

BIO:
David Bratton and Earl Muehlenbach connected amid the house parties and basement shows of Seattle's burgeoning DIY scene in the late 90s. Soon after, they formed an avant-rock four-piece called Wimbledon, and a community of like-minded musicians and artists sprang up around it that coalesced into the underground art and music collective Beep Repaired. After releasing two records on Beep Repaired's label, Wimbledon disbanded in 2005, and Earl and David launched their own projects. That year, Earl released a solo album as Plenty Face that the Seattle Post-Intelligencer named one of the "best DIY albums of the year" while David toured and released EPs with his spaz-art side-project Pomeranian. Two years later, after uniting in NYC, the restless duo emerged into the light of an excited Brooklyn music scene as Oars.

Currently Oars is playing live in New York City and planning a tour to support their debut in the early spring of 2009.
