Octavia Harris, Radical Sabbatical
One thing is clear from listening to the Portland based rapper, R&B singer and multi-talented hip hop artist’s high impact mix of heavy thumping grooves, old school soul atmospheres and hard hitting lyrics: Harris has truly been delivered from darkness in her life, and is excited about sharing her glorious coming out party and newfound joy of the Lord with the world. Over the course of fourteen completely infectious, soul-stirring tracks produced by some of the hip-hop world’s top studio cats (Doc Sizzo, F Major, Al Fraser, Sharpsounds, Ansane Productions, Hy-grade and others), she shares her deliverance in both personal and universal ways. The first lines of the opening title track say it all: “It’s a new day…it’s a new me.” She raps about spending more time with “the God who was living on the inside of me” and on “Enjoy The Sun” explores her wonder at the majesty of God’s mysterious creation. Beyond sharing the gospel message and the story of her own redemption, Harris also creates, on tracks like “For The Ladies,” powerful empowerment messages for females who struggle with their self esteem. The grooves and melodies flow seamlessly so the listener can focus on the message. While younger fans can enjoy the hard hitting danceable beats, Harris also taps into the classic R&B vibe on liquid soul tracks like “Different Kinda Love,” which almost find her channeling the cool, seductive spirit of Curtis Mayfield. Five stars for so many reasons!!!!Octavia's album is relateable!!Anyone could understand the powerful messages, but she is an incredible writer and still keeps susbstance lyrically.She is one of the most creative, diverse artists peroid I think. From the dance track"God in U" to the reggae infused "Put you first" to "Everything" which is a worship track and happens to be my personal favorite."Back to the Crib" is another personal favorite. She has something on this album for everybody... This real music yall!!!! Christian Rap at it's finest!!!!

I ordered your CD when you first posted the bulletin about it and it arrived about a week or so ago. First of all, I was very surprised to see a handwritten note inside of the package. That alone would have won you lots of points with me. In the note (handwritten. . . that is so fly in this millennium) you said that you would love to hear feedback. So here we are at the feedback. It is difficult for me to pick one song as my favorite because I like them all. I listened to your CD the first time while I was cleaning my house. I have had it in the car for the last few days and it is truly a CD that I can let ride. I don't have to skip any songs at all. I just let it ride. This CD has blessed me indeed! I was a fan when I first heard the music on your page and I am an even bigger fan now that I have the CD. I pray that you have to drink from your saucer because your cup has overflowed! I pray for your continued success! You are definitely a role and goal model for women. As a single man, this CD has still blessed me so that I can bless some of the women in my family with it. A Must Buy!
author: LaToriaAll I can say about this project is wow! Very refreshing and its obvious that Octavia put her all into this project. The level of transparency is awesome! The "Radical Sabatical" intro is a great way to get the joint started and makes you anticipate what the rest of the album will sound like. "God in you" is one of the best songs I've heard in a while. You can't help but to move ya feet. "November 04" This song is off the chain for so many reasons. The real life testimony allows you to connect with Octavia on a whole new level. Not to mention the track is loco! "Back to tha Crib" is real talk and "all around the world" is a crazy colaboration! Also two of my fav songs on this album. Over all I give this cd 5 stars b/c there something on here for men and women, boys and girls, young and old. We need more artist to put out this type of life music. Good stuff. Octavia!!!

Track 02 "Enjoy The Sun" speaking on how to be thankful for what you have right now smaple...Most importantly my friends you must believe in the SON, cause when he steps foot on the earth man the KINGDOM HAS COME....Track 04 November 04 is O's personal TESTIMONY and it proves she is a true WOMAN OF GOD who's not afraid of her past, she reaches out to WOMEN OF ALL AGES TO EDUCATE THEM ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY!!! bottom line is GO COP THE CD!!! Ladies you've been looking for a CD that represents YOU!!!
