The sound of October Allied is steeped in classic American music: rock-and-roll, blues, country, jazz, new wave, and punk. An honest reverence of their musical heritage is unmistakable, but revivalism this is not. October Allied is gritty and sincere.

Album Notes

October Allied’s music straddles the past and the future of rock-and-roll. Masters of post-punk modernism who have become serious students of blues, country, jazz, r&b, and soul, the band’s honest reverence of their musical heritage is unmistakable, but never takes the form of revivalism. October Allied has crafted a unique sound. Dual guitars, colored only by the tasteful reverb and overdrive Leo Fender intended, interlock over precise bass lines and jazzy drum beats. Powerful, gritty lead vocals yield to sweet 3 part harmonies. The rhythms compel you to dance, but the lyrics and arrangements defy convention for an effect that is both exciting and unnerving.

Formed in 1999 after a chance reunion of east coast expatriates in an Oakland bar, October Allied has built a reputation as a live band that is not to be missed through countless performances around the San Francisco Bay Area and western US.

With the its sophomore full-length recording, “Point Me South", October Allied has definitely come into its own.
