Psychedelia of the Nature since 1999


Octopus Syng is the studio incarnation of just one person ( Jaire, born 1970 ), making music on so called traditional instruments. He also nowadays sometimes "covers" his own songs on a rare and well chosen occasion with his "Karma Brothers Play Octopus Syng " - group ( Vocs , 2 guitars , bass , drums and percussion ).

Psychedelia, Pop- melodies, modern hippiefolk, reverberated garagerock , sensitive stuff on piano and sitarrock . Sun, Love, twilight of the forests on a summer night, birdsong, loneliness, searching for your own self, winning your fears, romanticism and positive vibes ...

The making of "Karmadelic" started already in May 2001, as I had just returned from India with a sitar in my hand and my head full of sunny vibes . It took me nearly three years to win all the karmic obstacles and to get the record finally out ; karmadelic in the truest sense of word ! Anyway, I did find that lovedelic element there among all that karma junk ! In the meantime I took a deep breath, too, and made one Octopus Syng vinyl 7" EP as well. Thanks to everyone who have helped me with this record and of course to Timo Pääkkö in Pori, who released "Karmadelic" on his SoundHawk - label.

Karmadelic is not probably the most complete record on what comes to the technical side and not soundswise either, which I think is only positive. The records "too" complete technically tend to sound synthetic, because the ever changing x-aspect , which makes living and music exciting and interesting, is missing .

Yeah, I ´ve also had for years a brutally named group called "Dildo Mania" , the music of which would be best described as Underground-rock , which is not very easy to describe.
At this point I will, let Octopus Syng rest for a while and concentrate on the summer gigs and recordings with Dildo Mania. I think it is the only decent thing to do after three years of Octopus Syng ... or ... I will perhaps make one Octopus Syng vinyl - 7" at the end of the summer as I have a couple of great new songs which definitely should be released during the summer. I just cannot seem to keep my paws off the recording gear, but I will and try anyway ...

Yeah, there´s some rattling about the new record for you, "Karmadelic" ... hope you´ll enjoy listening to it !
