Odd Logic - Parallax Panorama, another good rock band!
author: Dag Fjellby

When I listen to Odd Logic - Parallax Panorama, I can hear the band is influenced by progressive rock bands like Rush, Dream Theater, Enchant, King's X, Queensryche, Tears For Fears, Symphony X, Genesis, and Styx. Even so, I won’t call this plain progressive rock. It’s more Rock and roll with a few elements of progrock. I don’t see this as a bad thing, because the band sounds good. They have good melodies and a good vocalist. I just don’t think its right to compare Odd Logic directly with progrock. Personally I do hear elements of Alan Parsons Project, and some of the melodies actually reminds me a bit of Little river Band. This does not, by any means, destroy the music. As another author says; “Parallax Panorama is definitely worth the money!” I totally agree. This is quality music with awesome sound, but I don’t think progressive rock is the correct label for this kind of music. If you like good quality rock music, with a few elements of prog - plus very melodic songs, this might be exactly what you're looking for. It’s absolutely worth a 4 star!

Odd Logic is the logical choice for rockin' out!

This group has got some fantastic sounds, especially if you like soaring guitars and vocals ala Styx and Genesis. Their music is diverse with thought-provoking lyrics and it is definitely not for wusses! The sound samples here really aren't enough to judge them by -- you have to crank it in the car!

Odd Logic's Parallax Panorama is a great for Prog Rock fans. It has elements of various bands, but is not a copy of any. The songs are thoughtful, musically challenging and have good vocals and melodies. This CD is very listenable, and I would recommend it to fans of Queensryche, Dream Theater, Marillion, Enchant and anyone who just likes good quality music that rocks.
