Oden Young is a musical/songwriting trio from northern California, near Sacramento. Comprised of two brothers, plus dad, their music has been contracted for film and t.v. usage and can be heard in resorts and hotels around the world through their contracts with the Muzak company. The group writes songs in several different styles, including alt pop, rock, electronica, reggae, hip hop and world music. Their debut EP, "Electro World", a collection of electronica and world music fusion, is being used by the Muzak company, and one of the songs from this EP, "India Beat-Raga Remix", is nominated for the 2011 Hollywood Music In Media Awards in the world music category. They have also been placed on the Suggested Artist list by the Song of the Year organization for two of their alt pop/alt rock songs. Oden Young's latest CD, "Float Away", is their first full-length album and highlights the group's range of musical styles, from alt pop and alt rock to retro synth pop and reggae pop. The songs on this album draw inspiration from several of the group's favorite artists, including Vampire Weekend, Owl City, Green Day, Daft Punk, Duran Duran, The Cure, Pet Shop Boys, Metallica, John Mayer and No Doubt, to name a few.
