Album Notes

Like Geoff's first CD, Morning Branches, Ordinary Mystery features songs largely born in dreams and reveries,
backed by his guitar, Indian shruti box, multi-tracked harmonicas, harmonium, and the instrumental brilliance of Kelly Mulhollan (of Still on the Hill), his co-producer. Geoff's joined by his wife Leslie (of the women's sacred music choir Harmonia), his daughter Amy ( a performing singer-songwriter from Northampton, MA), and his son Adam (with the bands Kickball and Lake, on K Records out of Olympia, WA). The fifteen tracks include love songs, songs of place like Piney Green River and Dordogne River Hymn, four songs relating to three Native American and indigenous Canadian tribal groups, the raucous Pawhuska Poppa, all sung from deep in the cave of the Heart. Proceeds from this CD go to Native American and
Canadian aboriginal tribal grassroots and charitable groups. Ordinary Mystery comes with a 32 page booklet of lyrics, with additional original poetry by Geoff, many colored photo illustrations by Leslie, line drawings by Michael Anderson, and
information on the 5 Native American nonprofits chosen to receive proceeds. Genres: folk and spiritual. Mood: both sensual and soulful.
