Album Notes

ofb42 was a by-product of a group of 30- and 40- somethings searching for the glory days of past bands. These guys started assembling in October 2001 with a drummer and a guy who likes to sing ballads. We added a few more pieces: a lead guitar, a cello player turned bass, and guy who just loves music.

This was the band, the group, the state of mind ofb42. How did we arrive at ofb42? Well, it started as a naming process similar to that used to name the big baseball fields around the country. We solicited companies and individuals who we thought might buck up to have their product in the band's name, as in Coors® Field, or the Pepsi® Center. We wanted the money to buy more equipment. There were no takers. So we asked folks that came to our first gig to help us. A few people called us "Old Fat Bast@%d$". This quickly changed to ofb, in deference to the many young children at the party. The 42 came from "Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy", (or was it "Zen and Art of Motorcycle Repair"?). Anyway, read them and you'll find the question. The dancing Buddha is related to our search, the search for the meaning of life.

When we looked back at the years we were together, we were searching, we were all searching, and we generally found it. The answer to the question was Rock and Roll, and playing it loud and in front of people. We did that, we had fun, but we now have gone in new directions.

This CD will certainly become a collectors item. Check it out.

Also, look at the spinoff bands' site - a couple of the guys formed JudgementDay - give us feed back, come back often (there will be new stuff occasionally). And thank you for stopping by.
