Album Notes

Hailing from Brisbane AUSTRALIA Ofsoski is the music project of multi instrumentalist Richard Ofsoski.

The music is diverse in style with progressive, classical, Ambient, Goth elements fused together with a varying heavy metal backbone to create a unique style.
All of the music was written, performed, recorded and produced by Richard with guest female vocals provided on 'Termination' and 'Faded Memory' by Joey Tsai.
The album "Later Than Never" also includes powerful vocals, epic orchestration, big guitar riffing topped with shredding solos with an emphasis on strong melody.

The album has been released independently and has received high praise from
various webzines plus amazing feedback from a steadily growing group of supporters.

The future of Ofsoski is extremely exciting with work currently underway for an
very promising second release due later in 2007

Metal Obsession review
author: Stefan Wendle

The good Richard Ofsoski comes from Brisbane, Australia, and because own pressures from the land of Crocodile Dundee are the rule also in our globalized world not yet, Here I have accessed sometimes curiously. Just 40 minutes later I can state that it has been worthwhile. Very good neoclassical Heavy Metal which the good man has played completely alone with only the songs "Termination" and "Faded Memory" if a certain Joey Tsai reached to the mike, which would not have been necessary at all because Mr. Ofsoski has a good voice ranging from melodic to raunchy. Influences are plenty , definitely the majority of tracks contain influences from various classical eras, heroes like Handel, Bach and Beethoven and the one and only Yngwie Malmsteen, the Godfather of all finger-board speedsters, Nevertheless at the same time you can also hear similarities to STRATOVARIUS and SONATA ARCTICA Now before now you or other readers drop the notebook like a toxic queue and Sagrotan about the styluses pours, allows to be said to You is sent that one avoids, this child birthday factor often to be heard with abovementioned chapels cleverly to circumnavigate. Indeed, there is nothing here that is really new and not every second of this CD lashes out at me from the socks (Worried Sheep “ is even a quite bad progressive instrumental Frickelstück, but it is the only weakness), Regardless all said this has still been a great listen. Richard Ofsoski is exceedingly gifted composer and musician, and any fan of the heavy metal/Power Metal should look out for and give it a go . If you do not believe me, trusts to your ears and check it out at www. myspace. com/ofsoski. There one can get a good deal for 17 Australian dollars including shipping and handling , this works out to about 11 euros. A professionally packaged CD indeed well worth it.

well-crafted intense melodies which really is "high-quality".

When I first reviewed Ofsoski’s promo tracks, I then stated that the scene welcomed a creative multi-instrumentalist. When I listened to his debut album, I can now strongly support the opinion that Richard is indeed a gifted man! Ten tracks of Neo-classical / Symphonic Metal filled with well-crafted melodies and intense feelings rule the album which really is labeled as "high-quality". In my previous review, I expressed my admiration to the wonderful song titled “Flame”. Now, along with “Flame”, I was surprised from another hymn which will be greatly received from every Neo-classical Metal aficionado! “Quest” is definitely once again one of the greatest songs composed this year in the genre and believe me, you don’t have to be a wise man of music to compose it; what is needed is inspiration and passion for what you do. Well, Richard combines both. From the sharp and melodic riffs he composes to his harsh and melodic voice, it clear that he must form a band in order to perform his songs with an overall better sound and of course get the distribution and attention he deserves. “Later Than Never” is an album destined to establish Richard’s fame and I believe that his next step will feature full-time members in his band. Highly recommended release! Dimitris Starakis
