Elina Ohanessian

Elina Ohanessian is a graduate of the Yerevan Conservatory in voice and violin. She came to America in 2000 to continue her career in both musical fields.

She was part of the orchestra as violinist, at Edmond's United Methodist Church in their December 2001 program, and once again at Westminster Chapel's presentation of "Gift of Music." She followed that with the "Festival of Light" in March and "Saviour" for the Easter celebration. She also performed at the Green Lake Church, in Seattle.

Elina was a member of the Sammamish Orchestra for their first performance in January of 2002, which included works from Puccini. She is currently a member of The Rainier Symphony and participated in their February 2002 program which included Shuman's Manfred Overture, Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto and Dvorak's New World Symphony Number 9 in E Minor. She appeared in March of 2002 in a quartet as violinist at Seattle's First Presbyterian Church in their program "A Musical Journey Through the Psalms, and once again she appeared with the Seattle Russian Chamber Ensemble quartet and performed works from Mozart.

Elina appeared in May of 2002 as a soprano in the choir of Seattle Opera's production of Verdi's "Un Ballo In Maschera." She is the featured soloist in "Darde Serdis," by Avetik Issahakian and in Hovannes Toumanian's "Akhtamar."
