Album Notes

The bulk of the tracks for the album were created during the bands extensive touring throughout the last two years.
OKA LOVE is a celebration of Australian cultures, while sinking deep into the roots of the Asia Pacific region.
The touring Oka rhythm section a.k.a. Zappa Juice, is Charles Wall on drums and percussion, bringing some
Samoan flavor and OJ Newcomb on bass. The "Zappa Juice" combination was captured in the studio for the
recording of OKA LOVE.
OKA LOVE also features Harii Bandhu (who was part of the original formation of OKA in 2001), Georgia Potter
(an amazing vocalist from Brisbane) and San Francisco based vocalist Tina Malia, who has worked for a number
of years with Shimshai.
They individually and collectively bring a beautiful and diverse color to the album.
A few words from Chris and Stu:
"OKA supports the political struggle for Indigenous rights 100%.
OKA believe that their most effective contribution, is to spread the beauty and open heart that is at the root of the
Indigenous cultures, through music, playing, traveling and celebrating. Focusing on the supreme harmony, love and
wisdom that has been nurtured by indigenous peoples from thousands of years connecting with nature on a
daily basis.
