The Okeanas are a four piece Americana Rock band from Hamilton, Ohio. Hamilton is also knowm for its' people of Kentucky and Appalachian Heritage. Maybe it's this that gives the Okeanas their distinctive sound.They are first and foremost, a rock and roll band, but their hillbilly roots cannot be denied.The record"Butler County" features songs as diverse as the rocking "Natalie", their catchy ode to actress Natalie Portman. And the other end of the spectrum" Obediah", the sad tale of an unfortunate Eastern Kentucky coal miner.
The band features former Big in Iowa drummer Jeff Wilson and current Big in Iowa guitarist Dan Andrews. Ernie Mills writes the words and sings. The band is rounded out by crazed bass thumper Randy Fugate.
