Album Notes

The Old Kings' newest release, "Divine Society," is a brand new collection of songs from this acclaimed American band from Singapore.

For a complete band bio, photographs, and more info about the band visit www.theoldkings.com!

This collection of introspective, melodic, thought-provoking, and emotional singer-songwriter songs combines the talents of musicians Patrick Linton (lead vocals, acoustic guitar, songwriter), Sean Nerney (keyboards, arrangements, recording engineer), David D'aranjo (bass guitar, drums) and Roman Tarasov (viola, electric guitar) to create an epic album full of surprises and raw emotive power.

To get a feel for The Old Kings' wide range of sound, take advantage of the listening samples that CD Baby offers:

Listen to "Trying to be Calm" to get a feel for the acoustic rock style and lyrical depth that The Old Kings explore on this album.

For a chilled-out Japanese pop song listen to "Liar Song," and for reggae-infused pop listen to "Gain."

If you like powerful acoustic ballads with tight harmonies, "Stop This Now" will give you a flavor for the emotion and soul The Old Kings put into their music.

Finally, for a reflective, hauntingly beautiful, yet sad acoustic song listen to "Two II." Roman's beautiful live violas add power and depth to this Old Kings' classic.

Above all, enjoy. This music was made for you.

This CD really brings out the introspective romantic in me. The mellow acoustic sounds, combined with the occasional rock, is a perfect testament to the band's versatility and musical talent, both for songwriting and performing.

I was recommended this CD from a friend of mine that used to live in Singapore. I am now a new fan of the Old Kings. They are very introspective and I relate to Patrick the singer's lyrics like he was talking about my own life. Way to go guys, hope to hear more stuff from you soon.
