Album Notes

This 2 CD set is recorded live from the 2005 National Oldtime Fiddlers’ Contest.

CD one is a good mix of show specials and group performances inside the contest arena. These show specials highlight the fiddle by using it in Bluegrass, Country, and group jamming.

The second CD is championship fiddling from the National Grand Champion Division. This amazing genre of music is awe inspiring and pleasing to the toe “tapper”. Traditional Oldtime Fiddling is kept alive at The National Oldtime Fiddlers’ Contest and you have a chance to hear some of the best oldtime fiddler’s in the country. The Waltz’s are moving and the Hoedown’s get your blood pumping and heart jumping.

This is a must have CD set. It is keeping tradition and heritage alive.

So much talent and variations of song that have been around for years, hoping for another CD for 2006 and 2007, even if some of the artist are the same from year to year. Being a new fiddler gives great incentive for future learning of old tunes
