Album Notes

Nominated for a Grammy ("best new artist") upon release in 2001, "Ceora" marked the debut of the then 12 year old trumpet phenomenon, Oliver Hunt. An unbelievable talent, Oliver was referred to by jazz historian Grover Sales as" a doppelganger of 1950's Miles Davis." (Olivers was then the subject of the KRON TV salute "A Young Miles".)

On "Ceora", Oliver not only pays his respect to Miles but to Freddy Hubbard, Lee Morgan and Art Farmer by playing great classic bebop irrespective of age.

Following "Ceora" Oliver continued astounding audiences and released "Confirmation"~and acknowledged masterpiece~!in 2002, only to suffer a career ending lip injury following the Jazz On The River Festival that same year.

Oliver recently resumed his career as a hot tenor sax player and a release of the now 20 year old artist is forthcoming on Xenophon Records.
