Moving to NY in 1980 she was a menber of Steppin' Razor
She then hooked up with Ken Herr, David Humphrey and Lin Culbertson to form Details at eleven, and joined Elliott Sharp's Carbon for several tours and lp's and cd's. She was an early member of No Safety with Zeena Parkins and Chris Cochrane. She played and recorded with Bite Like a Kitty an all girls rock band.She played with the double drumming group Better than death, later changed to Camping trip with Mark Howell, a heavy rock sound, and throughout those years made a contribution to the ever explorative improve scene in many a small venue in various trios, duos and solo engagements.
John Zorn's cobra in the moma summer garden series, east village big band and other dance and performance events throughout the 1980's. There were numerous tours with these groups in the USA, Europe and Japan In 1989 she relocated in France and joined several bands,Raeo with Gat and Mark Cunnungham in Barcelona, followed by Zar a duo with Jo Thirion and slide projections touring europe, and then solo's with the experimental film of Rose Lowder. She also toured with Tenko Ueno, and a Buto dancer, and Zeena Parkins and Takashi Kazamaki in Japan.
she has preformed with the french group Dustbreeders . The Roundtrip cd is a very personal home recording made in the quiet of the Dordogne countryside, as something different and deep in the heart of Katie's sound germinations of a multi-instrumentalist always known as a drummer,
