Omar shows up in the May edition of Christian Radio Weekly!
Interview with Christian Radio Weekly Magazine
CRW: I understand you write your own songs. What is that process like?

Omar: It’s kinda like walking outside in the rain with a cup in your hand trying to get enough to drink. Sometimes God just pours right into me what He wants to say and other times I get a little taste today and a little more tomorrow.

CRW: Why do you like being a songwriter?

Omar: It’s a chance to share [my] experiences with God. So many people can only imagine having an experience while others have it on a regular basis while still others don’t even know God wants to share something so personal with them. It’s a chance to say He’s not so distant and expose or shed some light on this opportunity in life.

CRW: How would you describe your music and your sound to someone who hasn’t heard you?

Omar: (sings) “I’m a little bit country, I’m little bit rock and roll!” Sorry I’m a little crazy, but seriously I repeatedly hear Darius Rucker and Mac Powell. I make no claims, but it’s a compliment to be mentioned in the same sentence with them.

CRW: What song has the most meaning to you on the album?

Omar: Oh boy that’s tough - I think Intimacy holds one of those experiences I mentioned I wanted to share. When God convinces you He’s “enough” everything else just seems to vanish for awhile.

CRW: Your debut single “Dead Man’s Find” rocketed its way up the IH Top 40 chart. How did you feel when you received the news?

Omar: I started grinning like a kindergartener with a piece of candy… [That] he’s not supposed to have!
