notes
Born in Mercedes, Texas raised in Nogales, Arizona, Omar began his misical career at the age of eight wih a full drum set. By the age of fourteen Omar won the State Fair of Arizona as a drum soloist. As a young teenager he began to play guitar and sing in his Rock band (Dragon Breath) and continued his career in the music profession.
In Harlingen, Texas Omar spent his high school years at a private school. He graduated from the Marine Military Academy as the percussion instructor. His Rock and Roll band played at the highschool dances and other functions.
Omar received a degree at the Northern Arizona University in music and Spanish.
His goal to become a performer led him to New Port Beach, California. Under contract by a agency out of Los Angeles he went on the entertainment circuit from Long Beach to San Diego. Ten years later he decided to return to Flagstaff, Arizona, where he now calls home.
Raised in a Hispanic family, Omar's music is greatly influenced by the Latin style beat. However his diversity in music has given him a great career in the entertainment industry. From being a Timpanist in the Northern Arizona Symphony to entertaining on the Grand Canyon Railways as a Cowboy singer and guitar player.
"What I have enjoyed the most is song writing and recording. My new Duo act, "Vivo" with Gregg Tauriello will give our fans a taste of what is yet to come. We specialize in Latin music but we play a variety of music that has some kind of soul, baby."
"Our goal as songwriters and musicians is to play our original music with the same flavor of the old Spanish Classics and enhance it with our own style and energy."
"Enjoy my original songs on "Javelina Cantina" CD and spice it up with our originals on "VIVO!".
