Album Notes

JOHNNY OM (John DeMarco)

Aside from being a songwriter/composer, Johnny Om is also a versatile multi-instrumentalist and a visual artist. He has been playing and writing music since the age of 12. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he was active in the local music underground with several bands and as a solo performer until he headed west in the mid eighties. Since then, he has worked on several musical collaborations, composed music for dance, and owned and operated art galleries in Taos, New Mexico and Kauai, Hawaii. His art has been published in Bailey Cunningham’s Mandala: Journey to Center, and TANTRA Magazine, among others. He met Jack Lee in 1990 while working together on music projects for author Lynne V. Andrews, and Christopher Taylor in Hawaii in 2000. He presently lives in Northern California and has a son and a daughter.

REVIEWS

author: Ellen Davis
This album is a 'trip'. Johnny Om sings his wisdoms and socio-political perspectives through his richly textured and unique sound. His playful and always diverse intrumentals include beautiful guitar tracks. The whacked out and outrageous is met through humor; some of it quite hilarious - like "Quail Hunt". Enjoy this album.
