It all started out during the winter of 2002, when a couple of us from different churches in the Boston area came together, out of the love of God and music, started jamming worship songs informally in a small rehearsal studio every week. We did not even have a band name back then. We just played music for the sheer joy of it, while we enjoyed the fellowship we had with each other in worshiping God together.
Eventually our private practices evolved into public performances. After a few coffee houses and a fund-raising event, we decided to name ourselves "one body" in March 2004. The name embodies the idea and reality that although we are from different churches and denominational backgrounds, we all belong to "one body", the body of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as Saint Paul said in 1 Corinthians 12:12: "The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ."
Our mission is to share God's love through original music and fellowship, together as one body in Christ, with brothers and sisters from different churches in the Greater Boston area and beyond.
