HISTORY OF THE BAND....
Back in the early nineties a small group of musicians gathered weekly at the Old State Tavern in Media Pennsylvania to listen to various live bands. By chance, one of the patrons was Randy Pittman who first met Joe McCormick. Randy asked Joe if he knew anyone who played bass like Paul McCartney. Joe replied "Sure! I do!" Well, they ended up in an old dusty machine shop and started jamming. The original songs that Randy played sounded great with Joe's bass lines but not quite complete-they were looking for something special...
One night Randy and Joe went to see some friends and another band called "Coupe de Ville". Randy and Joe agreed that the drummer and lead guitar player would add a lot to their sound. At that point they asked Ed to join in on drums and Chris to play lead guitar. At another chance meeting Joe and Randy met Charlie Thompson and found out that he played keyboard so they asked him to come down and join "One Shot Deal". The band was now complete.
The sound seemed to take on a life of it's own-- no one told anyone else what to play but it all fit together! The next step was to find a studio to record the tunes and they found Four Star Studios and met engineers and fellow musicians Bob Freed and Rich Bomberowitch.
Besides doing an excellent job on the recording, Bob Freed played piano solo on "It's Not Right" and Rich laid down keys on "The Landlord", "Slave Generation", "This One's For You" and "Cold Hearted Woman".
After ten years of working and reworking the music the band is proud to present the results of their efforts. The philosophy of the band is to do what you love to do no matter how long it takes since life is just a "ONE SHOT DEAL"!!!

Impressive !
author: Laura T Lynch of Kweevak.com
The five and sometimes six proficient players in the band come from a diverse mix of musical backgrounds and all have worked in other groups. The first eight songs of the CD were recorded in the early 90's in analog format. The project would not be completed until 2002 when more funds became available. Therefore, the last four tracks were produced and cut in digital. One Shot Deal is patient and the results are crisp clean production and magical musical life stories. All twelve tracks stand the test of time, capturing the essence and energy of rock and roll. One Shot Deal performs in the classic tradition with shades of southern rock to add additional flavor. The main ingredient is sizzling guitar leads and flavorful three and four part vocal harmonies. The CD opens strong with the title track and maintains a high standard throughout. This One's For You has a dozen impressive songs for you!

"Smokin' rockers with guitar licks that could melt formica"
author: Jennifer Layton
This is definitely classic rock...ZZ Top would cover "No way To Live", George Thorogood would cover "It's Not Right" and Jimmy Buffett would tackle "The Landlord"... The guitar licks are courtesy of one Chris McCord, who should be followed with a fire extinguisher at all times, just in case...twelve solid tracks of high energy fun!

This band ...is light years ahead of the bar band you just saw.

These middle aged guys know how to kick out the jams and rock and showcase this ability in a twelve strong song album! ...I think what separates these guys from other bands out there is that you can hear their enthusiasm for their music. I'd love to sit down with these guys one day and shoot the s**t because I bet they have some great stories to share!
