Album Notes
Key to Then is the full length debut and semi-conceptual album by On Ithenfal's Wing. It is the first in a trilogy which follows a downtrodden entity taking the form of different characters throughout each track such as a victim of crime, an imprisoned and vengeful character, Turin Turambar and Gandalf from J.R. Tolkien's novels, a haunted victim of loss, and a madman, among others. It begins with a short-lived intro set sometime in the past, and concludes with the title track dealing with themes such as acceptance, time, forced peace, tyranny, and hope. Recurring themes such as friendship, vengeance, imprisonment, and death make their way throughout the different tracks, all shared with melodic distorted guitar / bass lines, contrasting, powerful, and melodic vocal sections, and guitar solos. This melodic hard rock and metal influenced album should draw the listener into its core. Turn this one up loud throughout your quest to find the key to then.
