"Giddy pleasure overtakes you when listening to the music of Only Ed. It's full of geeky irony without a hint of pretense -- it pokes fun but with a sense of humor and self-deprecation. Good times are sure to be had by all." -CNET Music Downloads

Album Notes

"So Far, So Almost" is the first album by internet pop sensation Only Ed and The Almost. Ed is one guy, electricity, musical instruments and a computer to mix it all up with. Ed has ideas: some pop, some punkish, some "alternative," some experimental, some highfallutin, some poignant, some funny, some not so funny. That's why you're here, unless your visit is a horrible mistake. Maybe you should listen to a few tracks anyway.

Ear-worm Alert - This CD will make you smile!
author: Ann (motmot) Nightingale

Are you susceptible to “ear-worms”? You know, those phrases of music that keep playing over and over again in your head? If so, you should probably avoid So Far, So Almost. However, if you are looking for music to make you smile, or if you actually LIKE being haunted by silly little lines, buy this CD, put it in your player, and turn it up. Even the instrumentals will bring a foolish grin to your face. Only Ed and the Almost is really only Ed, his Casio keyboard, guitar, telephone, answering machine and a computer to tie them all together. (Important tip:—don’t leave Ed a voice-mail message unless you want your own fifteen minutes of fame!) This CD is a collection of fun tunes and Ed’s life lyrics—so far. His words and music reveal his irreverent attitude towards daily occurrences—from his relationships to religion and even the blues. Nothing is sacred! Robot Soldiers should come with a parental advisory, but not for any of the usual reasons. I dare you to listen to it and NOT pick up the phone. Ed clearly likes to keep his listeners a little off-balance (for company, perhaps?) The CD ends with 5 short piano pieces reminiscent of my dad's silent movie soundtracks or my sister’s ballet class. An unusual ending, for sure, but could we expect anything less from Only Ed? A really fun disc. Check it out!
