An all girl pop band from the 80's, formerly on Pulse and Rhino records.
This album, featuring originally six songs, was self tittled as the same name and available only on vinyl. There were only 2000 albums pressed at that time.
In two weeks all were sold through Tower Records and Music Plus. When it came time to repress, Pulse records had disapeared somewhere in Germany.
One of the songs sceduled to be on this album called "Even Try", went to a compilation album put out by Rhino records called "The Girls Can't Help It."
Still using the name Pulse, On The Air managed to get a professional video company to make a quallity television friendly video of the band called "Carol". This video made its first apearance on a music show called "Night Tracks" on the station T.B.S.
On The Air also made a special guest apearance on a cable TV show called "What's Happening Now."
In 1989 the members of On The Air went their separate ways. With conflicts of interest and career changes after seven years, they wanted to do other projects.
Recordings:
1) an e.p. in the form of a 45 record,
2) a 4 track recording of various songs {available on request}
3) a single 4 track christmas song "Another Year" only on cassett {"the Rodney show",KROQ}
4) a 24 track e.p. album "On The Air." NOW AVAILABLE for the first time on a C.D. is the original "On The Air" album with six more songs added to it; now called "This Can't Be Real."
Please enjoy this very cool 80's female pop band.

The Shame of a Good Thing That Never Was
author: James C. Taylor
These ladies definitely had a good musical thing going. It's a shame that their star got sucked into a label's black hole. It appears they disappeared but their music survives here and it's quite catchy in that 80s girl group way. I'd give it more stars, but the CD itself suffers from skips and pops on some of the vinyl to CD transfers toward the end. But it was good stuff while it lasted.
