Album Notes

The sky's the limit for Ookla the Mok.

-- Dr. Demento, host, The Dr. Demento Show

---------------

I got the CD and enjoyed it quite a bit.
Good stuff.

-- James Gunn, screenwriter, Scooby Doo, Dawn of the
Dead, The Specials, Slither

---------------

Oh. My. God.

It was quite nifty making my own tv show and getting
it on the air, but to receive such a cool special
thanks by one of my all-time favorite bands...
Good god, I may have made something of myself after
all.

-- Scott Gimple, creator/executive producer, Disney's Fillmore

---------------

Your new CD is EXCELLENT. The production is terrific,
the lyrics are entertaining, and the melodies are
really strong. You have every right to be very proud.

-- Kenny Young, singer/songwriter/guitarer Kenny Young
and the Eggplants

REVIEWS

Stellar performances from two very funny songwriters
author: Maggi, a fan
Ookla the Mok, in their fourth commercial album, continue to amaze and astound with insightful, humorous lyrics and well-crafted, diverse songs. A favorite at science fiction conventions, as well as on Dr. Demento, Adam, Rand, and their band make me laugh, dance and sing along for hours -- even after the CD has stopped. Thanks, guys.

another great cd from the masters of pop culture satire
author: davidthart
No one else could do a more kick-ass set of tunes about such pop culture subjects as Cher, Gary Coleman and Star Trek's Mr. Worf (my favorite!). Great music, clever lyrics and neat harmonies by Rand and Adam. Thanks, guys and I hope there's lots more to come in the future!

A catchy-tuned tour of what makes us love celebrity not ourselves.
author: Jotsa Memos Hadow
Ookla the Mok's new CD oh OK LA is full of hooky pop licks and catchy lyrics and manages to see beneath the surface of what makes Hollywood so attractive even while it repels us. The lyrics are a careful craft of what makes us tick as regular people and why we have problems with celebrity--the same reasons we have problems with ourselves and our intimates. If you don't find yourself humming one of these tunes after you listen to the sample songs, you'll be SINGING them.
