The Open Door Orchestra (ODO) is a revolving ensemble of players from around the world that utilizes an array of primitive instrumentation and contemporary influences to create timeless music. ODO artistically blends musical styles, taking the listener on an ambient, avant-garde, world beat journey. Musical director Shannon Michael Terry founded ODO in 1999 in Los Angeles.
“ODO was created as an ever-expanding music and sound experience. The music will always grow and change. The way I see it the OPEN DOOR ORCHESTRA Is as an empty canvas of sound possibility waiting to be filled by an always changing ensemble of musicians sound artists and poets, it is a production concept that will last a lifetime. I am grateful to express my music and sound ideas with a live organic ensemble.”
“My main interest is to bring ancient and new instruments together on one stage, to hear beyond the confines of traditional music structures. I’m interested in sound colors and how they work together to create the overall environment and conceptual field.”

Very revolutionary. Completely insightful, avante-garde, modern soundscapes that re-ignite the soul and question the boundaries. I was taken away by the breadth and inquiry this cd invoked, a must have.
