„openrivers“ is the name of different creative directions of gunnar gentzsch.
music videos, a music project combining electronic music with acoustical
instruments and a berlin based three man band improvising free acoustical music.

„instant“ is a live concert of the band openrivers, which was recorded
in berlin in summer 2010.
openrivers live features kay lübke on drums, holger tretzack on guitar and
gunnar gentzsch on clarinet and tenor saxophone.

the music is completely improvised, no material was composed before, but it is
deeply routed in melody and follows wide continous energetic bends and musical
directions. it is meant to be listened to in one go to follow the flow of the concert.

i explore movement.
layers of different forms.

the creative process itself is of immense importance - to stay inside the changing
flow of creation, to have moving forms, ever changing and to handle them with awe.
i am an explorer of layers – of life – the fleetingness, the blends, the emotions
inside and under, the substances of life.
with my background as a jazz musician i aspire to a balance between improvisation
and composition, flow and connection.

i want to create art of the utmost clearness
and inner truth to remind myself of being an indivisibly infinite oneness.
