Album Notes

Tania Opland and Mike Freeman are from... well, let's see -- England, Ireland, Alaska, Western Washington...? Let's say all of the above. You can read their webpage for more details about that, but be warned: it's confusing.

Their music comes from all over the map, too, gathered from their journeys and other rambling musicians they've met along the way. This CD includes material from Ireland, England, Norway, Russia, Macedonia, Uzbekistan, plus a few originals, written on the road, so not really from anywhere specific.

Mike Freeman: Djembe, darabouka, vocals, guitar, mandolin, cittern.

Tania Opland: Guitar, vocals, violin, hammered dulcimer, tenor recorder, Kiowa (Native American) flute, keyboard, piccolo-melodeon.

Guest artist: Dee de Wit on 'cello and double bass.

Wow - what a variety of instruments and music! Very interesting and enjoyable. Will also have to look into more recent offerings.
