ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Straight from the 5th forgotten borough, Staten Island, NY (aka Shaolin), Optometrist is an upcoming artist and producer with an album set to blow and bring that Gatin Staten raw East Coast flava back into the hip-hop realm. Super Rhymes: The Pen & Pad Chronicles is complete with hard hittin’, head bangin rhythms combined with tenacious delivery and lyrics. Versatile in every form of the meaning, this album has party joints, battle joints, story joints, conscious joints and even a screw joint for heads to nod to. Opt has a strong sense of entrepreneurial values and continues to add on to his resume. He has financed his album and performed at showcases in some of NYC's finest clubs and venues creating a consistent buzz for himself.
Some highlights include performances at the Victory 2005 NJ with multi-platinum Grammy winning artist Mya, and at The 10th Annual Fordham Road Renaissance Festival in the Mecca of hip-hop, the Boogie Down Bronx. At the age of 16 he won the grand prize at The Shaolin Showdown Showcase with a group that he co-founded called The Surgeons. Born and raised in Staten Island, he represents this borough to the fullest and he is poised at bringing the “Golden Era” style of hip-hop back to the mic.

O! Ya My Hip Hop Hero!!!
I love the fact that you have substance in all of ya tracks. To all who said Hip hop is Dead, ya'll need to put Super Rhymes in ya head. Heavy rotation baby! Heavy rotation!!!

THE ALBUM IS SIMPLY FIRE!!!!!
This album is chronologically correct. Each song builds from one concept to the next and anyone who likes quality Hip-Hop/Rap music should definately purchase the album. The tone of the album from the opening verse is pretty sick and tenacious. As a matter of fact, mid-way into the album the Optometrist breaks down some actual-factual messages with tracks like "It's All About...",
"When you see me again", "Love Graveyard" ,and
"What's your Story?",just to name a few. I got the album in heavy rotation and I can't wait for the next installment...Keep writin' and makin' those funky beats...Out...Morph da Shape Shifter...

This album is a breath of fresh air...Ahhh
Lyrical yess, funky beats yess, thought provoking,
but of course. These are some of the things that's missing from today's mainstream and it's good to hear other artists representin' Staten Island. After listening to the album numerous times one should be able to see what the Optometrist is showin' on those funky ass tracks. Hip Hop needs this so people can open up their eyes after getting their eyes examined by the Optometrist...Roman..

SUPER RHYMES is the future for these times!!!
Pure fire my dude...I saw ya performances a few times at different club spots in NYC and I liked how you tore it down on stage so I figured that I would buy this album. Super Rhymes is a definite banga for ya single, but it's even sicker that that is not the only banger on the album. You got joints kid...matter fact, I'm about to roll a joint to THC!!!

It's that shit we all need to hear!
His music is refreshing, and remindes me of the golden era of hip hop. What happened to that fly shit (hip hop)? in order to get back on track, we need music like this to lead us back to the light!!!!!! keep doing your thing! 1
