Album Notes

These ten original tunes cover a wide range of jazz styles. It’s a classic organ quartet line-up typical of greats like Dr. Lonnie Smith, Jimmy Smith, Jack McDuff and others. However, it also makes nods to Tower of Power, Medeski Martin and Wood, James Brown, Quincy Jones and John Scofield.

Organ player John-Paul Gard has worked live with guitar maestros Andreas Oberg and Alex Hutchings. Sax player Dominic Norcross has played support to The Blues Brothers Band, Bo Diddley, Joe Cocker and more and has shared stages with Digby Fairweather and Mornington Lockett. Drummer Nigel Williams has played in Georgie Fame’s Blue Flames and was a long-term member of Van Morrison’s band. Guitarist Johnny Davies is a regular at jazz clubs and festivals across Britain and is the main tune writer.
