Album Notes

origami ghosts is the band of Seattle Singer-songwriter/guitarist John Paul Scesniak. JpS began learning and studying the guitar in 1996. At this time he also found his voice, and started singing and writing songs almost immediately upon picking up the guitar — compelled to write short, simple, and melodic folk/pop songs. Over the course of a decade he has written hundreds of songs, “solving my own puzzles” being his first release (on the label “hand to mouth media”). The songs are at times dreamy, melancholy, and sleepy, and at other times funny and quirky — evoking feelings of summer happiness — and the poetic lyrics elicit feelings of childhood and nostalgia.

The songs are written by JP, with the accompaniment of hammered dulcimer (Joel Hanson), cello (Ki Johnsen), drums (James van Leuven), and guitar (Amir Estakhrian). The album was produced by James van Leuven (automaton, plan b).

another band worth listening to.... every song is just as perfect as the previous...with the exception of the first song of course...i can definately hear the modest mouse influence... it's so nice discovery an awsome band, with an awsome cd, and an awsome style...definately adding it to my collection...you should do the same
