Carey and Josh Haynes formed the Originals in 2002, a band based on lyrics and music by Carey Haynes and guitar rifts and solos added by Josh Haynes. People often compare the music of The Originals to Oasis, The Beatles, and Pink Floyd. For their recording, Almost Live and Unplugged, they tried to capture the heart and the mood of the melodic songs. Most of the CD was recorded live and all but one of the songs is unplugged. The songs are their take on love, loss, and life itself, and The Originals are committed to making creative songs that mean something while giving the listener a significant experience.
