"Orion immediately caught my eye. The beautiful woman washed in red lured me right in. As the first song began to play, I realized that I had stumbled upon something very different, and very exciting. It is an intense feeling when your brain struggles to categorize something in a "what is this?" kind of manner. My stream of consciousness started blurting things out like, gothic, ambient, dreamy, fantasmic, dark, and mythological. As I continued through the catalog, I was met with tambourines, enchanting rhythms and metallic guitars, all juxtaposed in a poppy variety. This CD spans the spectrum from pop to rock to electronica to goth and back. "Hymn for Radia" is my personal favorite, transporting me to a genre of 60's rock fused with Orion's sensuous voice that seems to meld seamlessly with the music. It is not overpowering, but deeply accentuates the song. "Dance of the Sufis" takes the synthetic dance and rock and fuses it with Maiden worthy guitar riffs. "The Sage" and "Aphrodite" lean more toward the gothic ambience and lend a diverse spice to the rock. With each song you get something entirely new and mystical.
If you are a fan of the Earthlings?, or Siouxsie and the Banshees, Orion falls nicely in the middle of the two with a side of distortion, and a dash of electronica to top it off." - Michelle @ Lab Productions
