ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Here's the complete second hour of this wonderful old time band as they performed on January 7, 2005 in the historic Rex Theater in Galax, Virginia. Many in the theater that night said the second hour's performance was even better than the first. So it's not too late to join in the fun and listen to the hilarious intros, jokes and great songs as this band performs in old-time costume to a roaring full house. In this hour you'll hear Carol belt out a rousing version of Banjo Pickin' Girl while she and Dick perform a duet on their banjos? And James Christian does another wonderful job on a new song he wrote for Chirstmas. If Jesus Were Not Born There Would Be No Christmas tells it all. The band's rendition of Rocky Top is simply great and the dancing crowd loved it. There's many more great songs, so come listen as these artists continue their historic musical tour of their little mountain home town in Oriskany, Virginia.

- Pete Robertson, Brown Summit, North Carolina

"Listening to the Oriskany Strings takes me back to the days when my father used to play the fiddle and my family sang together. When I hear your music, it just makes me want to hear more!"

- Richard Ronk, Eagle Rock, Virginia

"Listening to your songs transports me to an earlier, gentler time. I can just feel the stress evaporate, especially when I sing along."
- Hazel Lewis, Fairchance, Pennsylvania

"I got to know the Oriskany Strings a few years back when working with Rita Parady. They are a unique and diverse group of folks with a great sound. They also seem to have such a good time when performing, and that makes me enjoy their music even more!"
- Jennifer Crawford, New Castle, VA
