Album Notes

Orphonic Orchestra is a female fronted rock band with a classical influence. They are based out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Started as a writing project by John Marszalkowski, that slowly transformed from a project into a band. Each member’s ideas are all involved in everything you hear today.

Their first self titled full length album features a short rock opera that is set in a mythological ancient Greece. The lyrics, along with obvious influences from the Finnish band “Nightwish,” labeled the band as “Fantasy Metal” (A style of metal mainly popular in Europe). The album offers many instruments, including a string quartet and choir, so the band was also sometimes labeled “Symphonic Metal”. Since these styles are not common in North America, the most common comparison is the band “Evanescence.”

In January of 2005, the band (consisting of Kassandra Quirke doing lead vocals, John Marszalkowski on guitar and vocals, Mandy Leigh on Viola and vocals, Desiree on Bass, and Bryan Bloodsoaker on drums) started writing new songs and reinventing their style.

In October of 2006, the band released their “Six Song EP” that featured their new style. No longer Fantasy Metal, Symphonic Metal, or even Metal at all, the band awaits an accurate description of their new style. Future goals of the band include touring and releasing a second full length album.
