Orquesta Ceiba is named after the Ceiba tree, symbol of Ponce, the salsa capital of Puerto Rico. It is the home of the Saints of Santeria, a religion which has deeply influenced salsa music.
Inspired by the masters of Puerto Rican and New York Salsa, Orquesta Ceiba plays a full-flavored, authentic music.
2009 marks the release of the "Cinco Colones" album, recorded in a no-frills, strictly traditional Salsa Dura way.
Directed by Luc Bartoli, Orquesta Ceiba is drived by sonero Jacques Laye Solano (Costa Rica).
