Great Chill Out Music
author: Patty James
Turn down the lights, pour yourself a drink, and light some candles. Take a deep breath. Now exhale. And listen.
This ain't no party, this ain't no disco. This is singer-songwriterland. Highly recommended.

Just amazing and not like the rest

I found out about Pat Ortman from a posting on MP3.com almost 2 years ago. I've seen him play live in Hollywood, too. This guy is the REAL DEAL. You need to listen, and buy, this before everyone knows who he is.

I can't stop!
author: Baldrick
I can't stop listening to this album! Pat Ortman combines spare, hard-hitting lyrics and catchy, inventive tunes with wonderfully eclectic influences. Every track is great (how often can you say THAT about an album these days?); "All Must Go to Sleep" is particularly awesome. It's hard to believe one guy did it all. If you're tired of bland corpo-rock and looking for something new, this album is for you.

Bring it on!

I first heard Pat's music in late 1999 when his Internet EP "Naked" reached #2 on MP3.com. When I found out a new fully produced CD was coming I was scratching my head about the concept- I had grown to love the spare acoustic arrangements of Pat's intense songs and solos acoustic performances. Never fear- the new CD "Pat Ortman" is light years beyond his previous work, and the fuller arrangements allow him to say and do things that a simple acoustic guitar just doesn't allow. By the way, he not only wrote and recorded everything in his home studio, he played all the instruments himself too. Amazing. You need to check it out. The CD has already gotten to #1 on Amazon's indie rock chart, and it sounds great next to REM and Coldplay. My favorite songs are "All Must Go To Sleep" and "It's Just You".
