'Deep soulful grooves'
'intriguing melodies and arrangements',
'grooves with intensity and an infectious danceability'
'outstanding keyboard player'
'a musical chameleon'...
These are a few of the many accolades that have been written about Dave Osoff's music by writers from around the country.
Dave's award winning instrumental album 'Mosaic', with it's innovative blend of contemporary jazz, funk, rock, pop, blues, R&B and electronica was awarded '2004 Instrumental Jazz Album of the Year' as well as the track 'Never Enough' as '2004 Instrumental Jazz Song of the Year' by Just Plain Folks, a worldwide community of over 50,000 Songwriters, Recording Artists, Music Publishers, Record Labels and other members of the Music Industry. The album was chosen from over 100,000 song entries and 10,000 album entries in 60 genres of music.
The album has received airplay on over 80 stations around the US, Canada, Europe and Australia as well as many online radio stations.
'This instrumental project features some of New England and New Orleans' finest musicians, including Nyno recording artist Amadee Castenell (tenor sax, flute), who currently tours with Elvis Costello and Alan Toussiant and has recorded/toured with Paul Simon, Paul McCartney, Dr. John and the Neville Brothers. Scott Murawski (electric guitar) of the legendary Max Creek, Phil Lesh and Friends and Mike Gordon, Erik Ringstad (acoustic and electric guitar) of the critically acclaimed Acousticity, Justin Kolack (bass) of the Vykki Vox Band and Billboard award winning Sky Piece and Greg Vasso (drums, percussion) of Jiggle and Max Creek, all bring an intensity of spirit and groove to these songs that is simply exciting to listen to and to be a part of.
From the adventurous, acid-jazz/funk of 'Why Not?', the blistering techno-rock of 'QX5', the hypnotic grooves of 'Hannah', and high energy funk and R&B of 'Freedom/Rising' and 'Mosaic', to the uplifting pop hooks of 'On Our Way', 'Destiny' and 'Even Now', the swinging gospel flavored boogie-woogie of 'Never Enough', and the intriguing musical journeys of 'Daybreak' and 'Undercover', Dave Osoff's music offers a unique approach.
Every song captures a unique mood and vibe, with powerful melodies, hooks and inventive arrangements featured, and plenty of spontaneous improvisation and musical interaction both in the recordings and on stage. Dave is currently working on the long awaited followup to the 'Mosaic' album as well as a new solo piano project to be released in 2013.

Reviews of this album:
"...Red hot boogie-woogie...the energy that pours from this timeless cut is worth it's weight in ivory... Osoff is a musical chameleon, capable of swinging from rock, pop, funk and fusion, to R&B, gospel, blues and boogie..." - Greg Rule, Keyboard Magazine
"Outstanding keyboard player...he is definitely the stuff."
-L.A. Joe, Boston Soundcheck magazine
"A standout for its enthusiasm, variety and invention. "
- Paul Robicheau, The Boston Globe
"...a refreshingly original album...After only listening to a few cuts it is obvious that Osoff is a master of the ivories as well as being a proficient and clever songwriter-arranger...Osoff strikes gold with his multidimensional 'Mosaic'. An outstanding body of work!"
-Douglas Sloan, Metronome Magazine (Boston)
"His special touch on ballads like Even Now (I Think of You), Destiny, Hannah, and Undercover is a story by itself, but when he cuts loose on an up tempo number,
it simply astounds to be within earshot...This release was selected as being among the best of 2002 by The Jazz Nation's Executive Staff and at internet station WBLZ-Blazeradio. Another crown jewel among musicians residing in or near the great city of Boston, Massachusetts."

"The best thing I can say about Dave Osoff's cd is that he performs the kind of music I listen to on my time off. I don't force myself to enjoy this music, I just let the instrumental jazz and pop roll right over me, as I catch up on email, write another book or do some scanning. As far as I know (and here I'll retire the 'I'), that's the best compliment a reviewer can give.
Dave has been touring and/or performing in the New England area for the last 14 years. And yet this is his debut instrumental album. You wouldn't guess it. The poetry of these 12 lyricless songs is pretty damn cool.
To call it jazz alone is to rob its energy from those of you who assume that jazz only means mellow, smooth or smoky. The lite rock/pop element is like the wick of this candle. You can't light it otherwise. Listening to the title track, with that blast of sax and solo moments of
electrified organ, well, Dave had better follow up this release with another,
if this is truly what he's capable of."
